Jay Curwen

A veteran of hundreds of races, I've been fortunate enough to find my way to the front many times, from ice hockey, pole vaulting, cross country and swimming in high school & college, to a stint as a professional triathlete with 2 Ironman World Championship finishes and several US team appearances, as well as 3 USA Triathlon AG National titles, and finally a USARA National Championship in adventure racing. My competitive spirit has taken me many places and afforded me the opportunity to meet an incredible array of fantastic friends.

I have woven my love for the outdoors and competitiveness into a sales career for some of the industry's most iconic brands - Patagonia, The North Face, Hoka, LaSportiva, Kelty, Sierra Designs and more. I spent 10+ years as a VP at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, facilitating the smiles of thousands, and now represent the Asheville and WNC community I love as the Director of Sports, Film & Entertainment at Explore Asheville.
